Ella Hawkey – Owner – Managing Director
With 17 years experience in the industry, it has long been a dream of mine to create my own workshop. Trained in London by the award winning Toni&Guy Artistic Team and also enjoying 4 years working for Aveda, my expertise in cutting, colouring and Hair up have lead me to win various competitions and be involved in some amazing events.
I love what I do, from laughing with clients day to day through to editorial shoots, shows and teaching. Hairdressing is an art form and inspiration can come from people, places, films, fashion or even music… Whether it’s understanding what will suit someone’s colouring and face shape or creating a winning image, I am passionate about styling and love working with a diverse clientele.
I strongly believe that a positive experience can be uplifting and hope that at Atelier we will deliver the service that guests deserve. With a great team around me, I’m hugely excited about the future of our business. We hope you will love what Atelier has to offer and both myself and the team look forward to welcoming you here for many years to come.
Henry Whittle – Salon Manager
Hi I’m Henry. I have worked in the industry since 2005 for some of the leading Haircare brands.
Although trained in all aspects of Hairdressing I have a real passion for colouring. I enjoy new challenges and find helping people incredibly rewarding.
I am Ella’s right hand man and proud of our talented and professional team at Atelier. The atmosphere is creative and fun here which makes it a wonderful place to work and even better to be a guest.
If you book an appointment with me you are guaranteed an immaculate set of highlights, a wow worthy blow dry and always entertainment!
Emelya – Artistic Director
From an early age I have possessed a passion for the arts and over my 10 year career in Hairdressing, I have snapped up every possible opportunity to develop creatively and professionally. My experience ranges from session work for The Vintage Hair Lounge, London Fashion Week and numerous editorial shoots/shows through to Educating.
Highlights for me have been becoming a Finalist at the Davines World Style Contest 2014, where I got to present my work to a panel of the World’s leading Industry Professionals. I also feel privileged to have the power to inspire a younger generation of Stylists through their training and I get huge satisfaction from creating in respect to clients daily with cutting, colouring, styling and helping people feel better about themselves. Now I am very excited to join the Atelier team and continuing my creative journey in this wonderful city.
Julia Fry – Artistic Director
I have worked in this fabulous industry for 31 years and still love what I do. I have travelled the world with my scissors and had many adventures.
Bristol is my hometown and I am delighted to be back working in this beautiful space in Clifton, meeting new clients and working some hair magic! I look forward to welcoming you to our salon oasis.
Tori – Top Stylist
I am proud to be Atelier’s first Homegrown Stylist. I have been with the Business from the start, working my way up from Apprentice to Stylist and Manager of the Junior staff.
I really enjoy working with people, and feel lucky to have a team that feels like a family.
They have inspired and supported me on my journey, so I am now loving building my own clientele and teaching the new Apprentices the ropes!
Kim – Top Stylist
I have 20 years experience in the industry and am truly passionate about what I do. I love long hair work and specialise in cutting, colour and Bridal Hair Styling.
I have 5 gorgeous children also, so will be initially working Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and one Saturday per month.
I am excited to join the Atelier team in this beautiful space in Clifton, and look forward to meeting you soon.
Roberto – Stylist
I have found a home from home in Bristol. Originally from Malaga, I came to England speaking no English.
I worked in restaurants for years so learnt the importance of customer service, but now feel I have found my vocation at Atelier. I have won various awards at college and am passionate about colour and editorial hair.
I have been told (a few times) that I also give an amazing massage! So a visit with me should leave you feeling special and confident in your new bespoke look.
Chloe – Third Year Apprentice
Having completed my work experience here, I fell in love with Atelier and was delighted to be offered a full time position to finish my Apprenticeship.
I am learning so much every day from the Stylists and really enjoy being part of the team.
I will soon be building my own clientele, and look forward to inspiring the next generation of Apprentices here, as they start their journey.
Cody – Second Year Apprentice
